Pilgrims of the Wild and Once Were Pilgrims

September 28

The Refinery

 609 Dufferin Avenue, Saskatoon

Michael Farnan is a multidisciplinary artist currently based in Victoria Harbour, Ontario. Informed by discourses of reconciliation and decolonization, Farnan’s work employs settler-based interventionist strategies aimed at challenging Canada's colonial legacies and representational practices that continue to privilege settler history. For Nuit Blanche, the "Pilgrims of the Wild" screening and "Once Were Pilgrims" performance will feature Farnan's collaborative work with internationally renowned artists Lori Blondeau and Adrian Stimson. The three collaborators have developed a provocative exchange that takes on the appearance of a panel discussion.

The "Once Were Pilgrims" performance, one hour in length, will start at 7pm and will be followed by a screening of "Pilgrims of the Wild". This performance and initial screening is a ticketed event, lasting approximately two hours. Starting at 9pm, Pilgrims of the Wild will loop for two hours with Nuit Blanche attendees invited to view this screening as a come-and-go event, no tickets required.
