New Ticketing System Partnership
Huskie Athletics, along with Beagle Productions, is proud to unveil a new and unique electronic ticketing system for the 2010-11 season. Using the advanced technology of an iPod Touch scanner, all Huskie Athletics tickets and student cards will be scanned upon entry. This will allow for tracking and reporting tools to be utilized and will improve the flow of fans into each venue. The new system will be launched on August 27 at the non-conference football game against the University of Western Ontario Mustangs. “This is a new and exciting adventure for Huskie Athletics,” said athletic director Basil Hughton. “The benefits to the new system are multiple – including more accurate attendance numbers. We are also proud to be one of the first to use this type of technology.” Beagle Productions, a local Saskatoon company and developer of huskies.usask.ca is the brainchild behind this solution. Beagle Productions ticket development and promotion through InformationStation.ca and their history of customized app development made them an easy choice. “We have always been a proud supporter of Huskie Athletics,” said Dale Friesen, owner of Beagle Productions. “The opportunity to improve the fan experience and maintain the Huskies position as an innovative leader in the CIS was an exciting challenge.” The next phase will be to introduce the convenience of online ticket sales to all Huskie games. Online ticket sales will launch in conjunction with hockey’s home opener and will be available through huskies.usask.ca and informationstation.ca “An electronic ticketing system was something our fans have been asking for and suggesting,” said Hughton. “To now be able to offer this too them will give everyone more options.” Huskie Athletics continues to be one of Saskatoon’s top entertainment values, with ticket prices ranging from $6 - $22 for single game admission. Single game tickets for all Huskie Athletics events will be available for purchase Tuesday, August 24.

The Ex Weathers the Storm
With this record setting day, the Ex actually saw an estimated lower overall attendance over the weekend, down from 215 000 to 200 000. With all the rain, these numbers are quite impressive all things considered. Organizers attribute it to the strong entertainment brought out to this years fair. Next year is going to be the 125th Anniversary of the fair and planning has already begun. It should be an event to remember. Did you happen to make it out to this years Ex? If so what did you like/dislike about this years fair? Do you have a favourite ride, game or food?
